SAFE MOBILITY

Programme status: Pilot Preparation

Safer drivers build safer roads.

Driving is more than controlling a vehicle. Every person behind the wheel carries responsibility for passengers, pedestrians and other road users.

The Prashastaa Safe Mobility & Driver Development Programme is being designed to strengthen road knowledge, responsible behaviour, defensive-driving capability and professional standards through practical training and competency-based assessment.

PROGRAMME PURPOSE

More than a conventional driving-school course.

To develop safer, more disciplined and more employable drivers through practical road-safety education, behavioural training, supervised driving practice and competency-based assessment.

  1. 01Vehicle operation
  2. 02Road responsibility
  3. 03Professional behaviour
  4. 04Employability

WHO IT IS FOR

Three tracks for distinct needs.

Each proposed track has a different purpose; community awareness is not presented as an employment programme.

TRACK A

Aspiring / Employment-Oriented Drivers

For legally eligible individuals seeking stronger practical, road-safety and professional preparation for driving-related livelihood opportunities.

  • Safe driving
  • Road rules
  • Professional behaviour
  • Practical readiness
  • Employability

TRACK B

Existing Driver Improvement

For experienced fleet, commercial, taxi, delivery, institutional and private drivers requiring refresher or behaviour-improvement training.

  • Unsafe-habit correction
  • Defensive driving
  • Lane discipline
  • Distraction
  • Overtaking behaviour
  • Pedestrian responsibility

TRACK C

Community Road-Safety Awareness

Shorter awareness programmes for educational institutions, youth groups, communities, workplaces and public-awareness settings.

  • Road behaviour
  • Helmets and seatbelts
  • Pedestrian safety
  • Responsible road use
  • Distraction
  • Emergency awareness

This awareness track does not imply employment outcomes.

Road knowledge, judgement and professional discipline.

Fourteen concise learning areas are proposed for the programme.

BEHAVIOUR BEFORE REACTION

Driving skill is only part of safe driving.

Safe road use also requires anticipation, responsibility, patience, road awareness, pedestrian respect, disciplined communication and defensive thinking.

  1. 01Identify
  2. 02Anticipate
  3. 03Decide
  4. 04Act Safely

PROPOSED PROGRAMME DESIGN

Practice must carry more weight than explanation alone.

The intended structure combines classroom and demonstration, road observation, practical driving and assessment.

≈40% Classroom / demonstration≈60% Observation / practical / assessment

This is a proposed balance, not historical delivery data.

PROPOSED ASSESSMENT

A 100-point competency framework.

The framework is for Foundation programme assessment and is not a statutory licensing examination.

Theory & road rules20 points20 out of 100
Practical vehicle control25 points25 out of 100
Road discipline & observation25 points25 out of 100
Defensive-driving behaviour15 points15 out of 100
Professionalism & safety10 points10 out of 100
Emergency awareness5 points5 out of 100

Critical safety boundary

Examples include a dangerous signal violation, reckless overtaking, mobile-phone use while driving, severe pedestrian-risk behaviour or instructor intervention required to avoid danger.

LIVELIHOOD PATHWAY

From training toward appropriate opportunity.

Our goal is to help eligible successful participants move toward appropriate employment, apprenticeship or livelihood opportunities where available. No placement is guaranteed.

  1. 01Training
  2. 02Assessment
  3. 03Certification / Competency Record
  4. 04Employment Readiness
  5. 05Opportunity Referral
